Miniature Landscapes

About this project

I dove a little deeper into miniature sculpture and digital photography with this series. Using commonly found household items, objects from nature, and various lighting sources, I constructed multiple scenes on a 1’ x 1’ x 1’ Styrofoam block. It took weeks to get all of the glitter and sand out of my carpet, but the end result was worth the mess. Using my imagination and a hot glue gun, I fabricated various landscapes, shot them, and added minimal digital elements in the editing process, to manipulate the actual environment’s scale.

The large prints were well received by colleagues, mentors, and friends. They have been displayed in a juried exhibition and have been submitted to many photography competitions. Creating miniature, composed scenes has become a dear hobby of mine. And, I now follow other artists who share the same passion of style in their photography.
